Senior Associate
Originally a dancer and a scientist, Narelle is formally trained in the Iyengar method of yoga. Her practice and teaching are strongly informed by the developmental movement pattern and embodied anatomy work of Donna Farhi and Amy Matthews respectively. Inhabiting a significant scoliotic terrain, Narelle's practice is an ongoing exploration of spinal asymmetry, its functional, structural and physiologic sequelae; the felt, known encounter of conscious experience.

Narelle divides her time between New York City, where she regularly teaches at Yoga Union Center for Backcare and Scoliosis, and her home in Brisbane. She teaches Yoga for Scoliosis and spinal anatomy in NYC and Europe, and presents her research in yoga for scoliosis at international peer reviewed Conferences (upcoming SOSORT in Milan). Narelle is in the process of completing her books on Yoga and Scoliosis, The Embodied Figure 8 in Asana, and An Embodied Ecology (image and word). She is thrilled to offer her inaugural Yoga for Scoliosis Teacher Training during 2012.
