Pedagogy refers to the science or art of teaching and education. How we teach, what we teach and the value we wish to communicate through our Yogic teaching are all heavily influenced by our pedagogic model. Unfortunately, for many teachers the pedagogic model with which they are working remains largely unconscious and thus their teaching has no clear navigational system from which to plan classes and assess the effectiveness of those classes. A conscious pedagogic model underlies the very way in which we communicate our core values to our students.
Creating a safe learning environment; Understanding what it means to Educate; Education Threshold; Active Involvement versus Passive Intervention; Cultivating Inner Reference Systems versus External Reference Systems; Moving from Dependence to Independence, Horizontal Communication models, Working with Deduction versus Presumption and the role of acceptance and compassion in guiding the whole student.
