Amy was drawn to Yoga as a teen who had been very athletic as a child, but in adolescence, lost interest in competition and found Yoga. She did her first class in 1980, and practiced privately throughout the years. Amy participated in her first Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center in 1996 and began teaching within the first year after that, including on staff at Kripalu. Upon returning to the west coast of Canada, she was able to take Donna Farhi’s first and one of her only Canadian teacher trainings, in Vancouver in 2000. This opened many new doors of perception that over the next many years continued to develop and deepen, and have been thoroughly integrated into Amy’s teaching style as well as her personal practice.
